Hey my fellow internet surfers.
It’s been a long time since I’ve did any development progress in “The Deadly Onez” game and that’s because I’ve been rethinking the whole gameplay concept.
I’ve only got into pixelart recently and I’m learning lots of new cool things and I’m falling in love with it, since retro games is one of my favorite game genres I’ve decided to start on making this game as a 2D game with pixelated characters and environment but since I was doing the game as a top down point of view it was exhausting my time like oh my god!
And not that I don’t like doing it but I’m spending almost no time on coding whereas it takes me hours to do one simple room, drawing, layering and positioning and not to mention the animated objects needs more attention.
I’ve made lots of thinking and calculations and I’ve decided to change the game mode from top down into side play (platformer) which also I adore a lot.
The mechanics, the plot, the characters and the concept will stay the same only the gameplay mode will be shifted into the platformer mode and of course the tweaks would be essential to ensure more quality, enchantment in the UX and other things.
It’s a stressful decision for me to do after what I’ve done and made since the start of the development process but I’m positive that this shift would be a great transition and hopefully brings more flare to the game.
The game means a lot to me, that it portrays my book !
Thanks for taking the time to read this long ass article … (=
Take care surfers !
