In other news, v2.0 "remaster update" for the original Cube's Dark Hours is now out!

Also, v1.3.3a has not been delisted, it is listed separately.

You can simply check out the new stuff, or read the changelog and be spoiled here:


Major and/or "important" changes will be marked in bold.

1. Updated warning screen

2. You can now delete your save data

3. Small QOL changes on the main menu

4. Newspaper scene no longer fades in from white

5. Slight font changes

6. Starting a new game no longer clears your entire data

7. Added something in the goodies. Call it a sellout, but meh :p

8. Characters are actually called "characters" now instead of animatronics

9. Characters no longer look choppy on the cameras

10. New office panning

11. Fixed the left light button being deep blue for some reason

12. Characters are much more aggressive now

13. New power system

14. Game over screens now provide info

15. Prizes are now visible outside the custom night

16. Sounds no longer sound ear-scratching

17. Sounds no longer loop over each other

18. The AC sound is significantly lower now

19. Custom night challenge stars now show properly

20. Newspaper animation fades in much faster now

21. Loading times for nights have been reduced

22. Changed one asset for Darkhog on the cameras

23. Door appearance assets have been slightly altered (Spidor is still huge though)

24. Camera panning has been slightly changed

25. Ini saves between v1.0 and v2.0 are separate

26. Fixed night 5 "hallucination" text bugging out and remaining visible in certain scenarios

27. Character mechanics should now work properly

28. When completing a night, the game no longer takes you back to the main menu

29. When a night starts, your POV will no longer be to the left

30. When a night starts, the cameras now properly start at the Showstage camera

31. When a door is closed, the light button will no longer make a click sound

32. The file size is larger now. Can't do much about that. Besides, it's only about a 12-20mb increase :p

33. other fixes, changes, QOL additions, etc. that would get wayyyy too long to list

Hopefully everything works as intended! Whatever bugs you may find, whatever needs fixing, just flame me about it in the comments.

I was proud of it back then to say the least.

Fixed even more mobile-specific bugs for CDH1 Reopened (one example is the game over screen "return" and "restart" buttons not taking you to the correct locations)

After CDH4, I should consider getting beta testers for future games.

Anywho, here's some scrapped assets for the flashlight, and the whole flashlight mechanic itself.
