I never expected this to blow up. I remember when I first realized fan-games were a thing after seeing Five Nights at Candy's back in 2015. From that moment onward I wanted to make my own.
I started on Scratch, believe it or not. Then, I moved on to Clickteam Fusion years later, eventually making and publishing the version of Bubba's Diner you all know. I felt like I was late for the fan-game party, though, and by that point I was already losing interest in Five Nights at Freddy's altogether. I was frustrated too, as an unexperienced developer, that the game had as many glitches as it did, at the fact that I had no idea how to solve them or simply that they could not be fixed. Clickteam is not a good engine and I had to learn this the hard way.
It seems like most of you had a good experience with the game, all things considered, and I'm very glad to see that. My goal was to be innovative, considering how saturated the fan-game scene had become, and it's good to know people enjoyed the game as a its own thing instead of just another uninspired copy of a copy. I feel great knowing even the infamous "unclogging the toilet" part was liked (specially by Markiplier).
It blows my mind that almost 150,000 people have played Bubba's Diner (despite the subpar state in which I left it). I cannot even picture a room with so many people in it. Thank you all for the support and sorry for the disappointment of me leaving right after the release without addressing the issues of the game. I think I believed I just couldn't fix it at the time. I remember being very upset myself that the original ending had to be removed because of engine limitations, etc.
No, there won't be Bubba's Diner 2. No, I won't be able to fix the game (although I would like to) because at some point in these last four years my old computer, which contained all files, went kaput. And no, I don't think I'll be making any other games in the future.
I just wanted to give this page and game some closure, since apparently people still play it and occasionally comment asking if I'm dead or something. I am very alive. I just made a good fan-game, said "mission accomplished", and dipped. But I digress. All in all, I would just like to say that I'm glad the community enjoyed this game, despite its flaws and everything. Thank you all!
