It's been awhile since I've done a review of something and I'm feeling rather bored, so I've chosen to talk about Grizzly's (2021) since I played and beaten the game 2 maybe 3 weeks ago and feel like sharing my thoughts on this flawed and wasted potential of a game but is fascinating on what it is that could've been done right.
Before going in I should note that I haven't played the VR version of the game and I'm sure that the issues I have with this game prob have been sorted out in that game, but for right now I'm talking about this version and I've got a few things to say about it.
For starters why the fuck are the borders white for full screen? The game is dark in colors and shading but for some reason has these blinding walls that attack the players eyes when they go full screen lol, pet peeve maybe but I normally play in the middle of the day or better yet the dark and this is the sort of shit you shouldn't have if you want the player to be immersed into the game (especially when it's story driven and you want the player to pay attention to the things around them).
Now, the gameplay being whack. Where do I start? I know how about the fact you don't need the cameras to beat the game at all and that one of the enemy's attacks the cameras despite not needing them to deal with everyone else (which they attack you through the doors) and it's a shame since the camera renders look good but aren't used right at all. Speaking of which these are some of the most uninteresting mechanics I've ever seen, everyone acts the same with them attacking you at both your doors but some differences with one of them acting like Foxy from fnaf 1 and the other only able to attack from one door but Grizzly can attack from both doors. This is so generic and lackluster that by the time you get to night 3 you've seen everything from the gameplay, the only thing I like from the main gameplay are the graphics, the setting itself, the music and the sound effects (the jumpscares are kinda bad too ngl).
The story which is both the best part and the worst part, I won't lie I was highly looking forward to how the politics where going to be done in the game since everyone was talking about it when it first came out and I've got to say... I'm disappointed. For one is that the party's are not really developed at all with one of them rigging the polls to win the election (again) and the other being too weak to do anything, this is not how you build up your worldbuilding and I wanted their to be more to it other then "one's evil and one's pathetic". I wanted the party's to at least have names rather then it set in America which is obviously where the dev wanted the game to take place but to me it's lazy because they weren't creative enough to make they own country and they own party names and the leader names ether. I wanted the "elegant Swans" to go against the "Tenacious Rhinos" or sum shit idk but the dev should've been out of pocket with it and have fun with it because the game takes place in a dystopian part of the world and I know that it could've been awesome to take advantage of that but the game just didn't do it and it's a shame.
(Putting this here, trigger warring for anybody not aware of what I'm gonna talk about. talks of family abuse and suicide will be discussed so if your not comfortable then please skip to the next point.)
The 2nd thing I need to bring up is one of the phone calls that brings in a plot point that didn't need to be made at all and I'm annoyed that it was kept, Jonathan (our protag) gets a call from his mother asking for him to come home to try to mend things between them with Jonathan telling her that he's not going back home due to the last time he came back and refuses to go through with what happened again. Jonathan's father gets on the phone and starts asking Jonathan to come back home with Jonathan once again taking his stance on his decision and THEN says to his father that he's the reason why his two brothers KILLED THEMSELVES due to how abusive he was toward them, the call ends with the father telling Jonathan that he's a waste of space and hangs up. I might've gotten some things wrong with my way of explaining it but the problem isn't hard to spot, first of all this is the last time we ever hear about this and is forgotten about for the rest of the game and 2nd is the fact that the game throws a topic as serious as SUICIDE in the game with no build up or any warring at all and that pisses me off the most. I have no issue with suicide in games or any strong topics because I believe with good exaction it can be done right and movies and games have done it correctly, but this game didn't do it right and it feels as though it was added for the player to artificially feel bad for the protag rather then do in a way that good story telling and to me is the games biggest flaw.
Finally, the main talking point of the game, Grizzly. The Eobard Thawne of fnaf, the pettiest robot to ever exist and is prob the biggest opp to a protagonist I have any seen in any fnaf fan game and it's crazy on just how much this asshole likes to fuck with Jonathan in everyway possible. For starters he is most likely responsible for most of the story, he had something to do with hurting a homeless guy on the street, had something to do with Jonathan's ex partner who seems to be dead due to him somehow and lastly speaks to Jonathan in a human tone and voice as if he's alive then he is a robot despite that being what he is. I'm sure the VR game explains it more but he is a menace to society and needs to locked up fr, he can just sit there with the rest of these guys as far as I'm concerned lmao.

To close things off, I'll say that the cutscenes were really good and I like the presentation and verity they have from each other (although this gets milked for the custom night as a way to pad out the game, fucking hate that). Have a good one and hope you all have a nice day/night :) (Also I'll prob play the VR version at some point when I've got the time so yeah, I'll let you guys know if I get to that lol)
