- For his first attack, he jumps backwards and gets a running start before lunging at Sonic with an aerial slash and finishing with an uppercut.
- For his second attack, he wields a gun. In this rhythmic attack, Sonic needs to time his punches and kicks to Joker's gun shots. Shadows might see his gun as real, but Sonic knows it's fake so it doesn't effect him as much.
- The third attack has the two clash in a quick time event. Press any of the buttons shown on screen to successfully dodge and deal some damage to boot.
- Joker's fourth attack has him bring out Arsene to perform the Cross Slash move. Watch the red marks following you and time your jumps/spin kicks correctly.
- At times while Sonic is performing the spindash, Joker will dodge out of the way to attempt at a counterattack. It's a good thing you're a protagonist too, so you could counter his counter with a well-timed press of the X key.
- After some attacks, Joker might bring out Arsene to perform god hand. You have one turn to deal enough damage to get rid of god hand, or else you'll be punched by the fist of a god for 10 damage.
