This month has been interesting. Unfortunately, I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks (for surgery), so I was unable to work on the game for this time. I'm better than ever now however, and have managed to finish the main goal for this month: The Transient Chapel graphical revamp!
Transient Chapel Revamp - Environment
The entirety of the Transient Chapel has been given a makeover (it looked very dated compared to the other areas in the game). As you can see from the image above, there are much more textures in the new and improved version. All assets are also scaled to (2x) their original pixel ratio, making the graphics consistent across the board. I plan to do the same rescaling for the rest of the first three levels, but not all will receive as big of a revamp as this level.Level Up Mechanics / Clock Checkpoints Change
For reasons related to the story, I've removed the ability to level up at clocks. Instead, players must go to a particular NPC to level up, craft, etc. Clocks now serve as "checkpoints", and transfer you to a parallel world (i.e. reset all enemies, etc.). I've added an animation for when you use a clock to emphasize that this is happening.
As you can see, the level has changed but the enemies remain the same. This will be changing very soon!
