Lutaland - Monthly Devlog 1

Welcome to the first monthly Lutaland devlog! From now on, I will be posting these progress reports on the last day of each month as an overall summary of the game's progress. Without further ado, here's the devlog!

Programming

I have made several large breakthroughs in Lutaland's programming this month. Some of the more important ones are:

A working text engine with character face plates,

textbox.gif

(similarly) a cutscene system for the new boss, whose name is yet to be revealed,

cutscene-me.gif

and much more! I hope you enjoy these small sneak peeks.

Music

As you have probably seen, Lutaland's soundtrack is relatively short so far. However, I'm always working on preparing new tracks.

I also have a Soundcloud page! Check it out here:

Writing

My friends and I are working hard on Lutaland's script! It's not much but here's a screenshot of some of our writing:

...and that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading the devlog, and I can't wait for what's to come!

I made this Lutaland art, what do you think? This will likely be used in the game as some sort of loading screen.

Practicing my music skills...

I finished all the icons for the inventory! Now all that's left is to... actually... program it...

This week's Fan Art Friday celebrates Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning! Accept the quest in your quest log to get started.

I'm working on some equipment ideas for KT to wear in Lutaland! A few are shown in the above image, so tell me what you think!

@MewMarissa is a Jolter to Watch and and a game developer who takes pride in attention to detail and producing quality work! Follow @MewMarissa before the quest ends on April 8 and you'll get Coins!

I'm continuing to work on the inventory system for Lutaland, and have added a few new things, like icons for different parts of the inventory, labels for those parts, and a cursor!

I'm testing an inventory/menu for Lutaland! The text used in the menu is only a placeholder, and will be replaced with sprites later on. With that said, what do you think?

Great news! 📢 @Aya_Games has joined Game Jolt!

I recently created this song for the Lutaland OST to be used later in the game. Give me your thoughts on it in the comments!
