Hello! Flake here. No, I'm not dead. Can you believe it?
Since the last devlog, progress has been slow but steady. The keen-eyed among you may have noticed that the page has undergone a slight makeover, Exhibit Gamma being:

The new logo!
I felt the old logo potentially promoted the idea that this was a human soul prequel fangame rather than an alternate universe. I particularly wanted to avoid being misconstrued with Undertale: Kindred Spirits, seeing as how both our projects follow humans with the blue and purple soul traits. Hopefully this reduces any potential confusion down the road!
In other news, new music!
Updated versions of "Prelude ~ Concerning Monsters", "Springwater", "When Push Comes to Shove", and "Tough it Out!" have been uploaded onto the page.
There's been a much greater focus lately on increasing the complexity of some of the arrangements, as I felt the previous versions were a little... milquetoast, so to speak? At the same time, I felt the previous version of "Tough it Out!" was a bit too complex, notwithstanding its mixing issues. It also just wasn't working, composition-wise, which is primarily why I decided to just gut it and restart from scratch. (Although, technically, this version was birthed from an FLP that has existed for the better part of around a year.)
Not much has really been happening on the programming front, admittedly; although, I'm not as embarrassed about that, considering I'm not necessarily an avid programmer. However, here's some sneak peeks regardless.

The palpably unfinished battle UI, and --

-- a painfully compressed demonstration of viewports, courtesy of my old GIF maker vanishing off the face of the earth.
(It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how viewports work in Game Maker...)
And, uh... that's pretty much it, update-wise.
I was hoping to have some more concept-oriented material to show off by this point, but truth be told, I have been very preoccupied, and it's only just recently that I've been able to commit my time to this project. If the fact that I'm posting this on the very last day of March didn't tip you off to that, then I don't know what else would have.
That said, just a friendly reminder that I AM STILL SEEKING TEAM MEMBERS! I can confirm, thankfully, that I have received at least one applicant (that I have yet to respond to due to aforementioned business; sorry :[ I'll get back to you soon).
I just want to go out on a limb and say that just because this page tends to go quiet does NOT mean this project is canceled. It isn't. And I have tried my best to communicate to ensure that people don't get that impression. But truthfully, I cannot commit all of my time to this project, which is all the more reason for me to assemble a team. I know that sounds really shilly (I mean, not that it isn't), but it's true.
So, even if you can't help on your own, spread the word if you can! And regardless, kind words of support are always encouraged. If I have just that, then I promise I'll put all the effort I can into making this project a reality.
That's all. Thanks for reading :)
