The next update for Megalia is here.
v0.02a expands the level editor with new building options and introduces the first tile with unique behavior, marking the beginning of more interactive level design.
New Tiles
Four new blocks have been added:
Sand A new mechanic tile. Sand will hold briefly when stepped on, then fall downward—taking the player with it. This introduces timing-based platforming and unstable terrain.
Dirt A basic terrain block, useful for creating underground paths and more natural transitions between surfaces.
Brick A structured block designed for buildings, interiors, and man-made environments.
Dark Stone A darker variation of Stone, suited for caves, depth, and more atmospheric levels.
Editor Expansion
With these additions, players now have more flexibility in how levels are shaped visually and structurally. Even without complex mechanics, these new blocks allow for more distinct environments and creative layouts.
Direction of Development
v0.02a is a small but important step forward.
This update begins the shift from purely static level building toward interactive design, starting with Sand. Future updates will continue to introduce new mechanics, entities, and tools while keeping the creation process simple and fast.
Current State
Megalia remains in Open Pre-Alpha. Expect:
Ongoing changes to systems
Limited but growing content
Bugs and unfinished features
The focus is still on testing the core experience and expanding creative possibilities step by step.
More updates coming soon.
