Very nice! i made a little level but idk if it actually managed to upload into the server you made, so i decided to also put a Mediafire link of the local file so you can load it into the editor

Megalia is a sandbox platformer creation game built around one core idea: make it, share it, play it.

At its core, Megalia gives players a simple but expandable set of tools to design their own platforming levels and instantly share them with others through an integrated online system. Every level is saved in a lightweight .mg file format, allowing creations to be stored, shared, and uploaded without friction.

In Megalia’s current Open Pre-Alpha state (v0.01a), the focus is on establishing the foundation of the experience. Players can create and test basic platforming levels using a minimal set of tiles, experiment with movement and jump physics, and publish their creations directly to the server for others to play instantly.

Core Features (Pre-Alpha v0.01a)

Megalia currently includes:

  • A fully functional platformer movement system with jumping and death animations

  • A built-in level editor for creating custom maps

  • A tile-based building system with distinct categories:

    • Block tiles for core terrain

    • Decor tiles for visual design (future expansion)

    • Item tiles for interactive mechanics (future expansion)

    • Entity tiles for gameplay elements (future expansion)

  • A direct level upload system, allowing players to publish maps to the server without manually exporting or sharing files

Online Creation & Sharing

One of Megalia’s key systems is its integrated sharing pipeline. Instead of relying on external file transfers, players can upload their levels directly from within the game. Once uploaded, levels become immediately accessible to others, making creation and playtesting part of the same continuous loop.

This system is designed to grow into a full community-driven ecosystem where player-made content becomes the primary source of gameplay.

Design Philosophy

Megalia is being built in incremental phases, with each version focusing on expanding creative freedom while keeping the core gameplay stable and responsive. Early development prioritizes simplicity, fast iteration, and strong foundational systems over content volume.

The goal is to evolve Megalia into a flexible platform where players are not just playing levels—but actively shaping the game itself through shared creations.

Current State

This is an Open Pre-Alpha build. Expect:

  • Limited content

  • Frequent updates

  • Bugs and unfinished systems

  • Rapid structural changes

The purpose of this stage is exploration, testing, and feedback-driven development.

Future Direction

Upcoming updates will expand Megalia with:

  • New tile types and interactive mechanics

  • Additional gameplay modes beyond Platformer

  • Expanded entity and item systems

  • Improved editor tools

  • Community features for browsing and rating uploaded levels
