ok firstly, I renamed the project to "Angel's Lullaby Book 1: Hope." The game is actually 2 sets of games, each with their own chapters and I feel framing it that way helps one understand it all the more.

Frankly with all the time, energy, money it takes to make games, I don't know if I'll ever get to Book 2 but regardless, I feel the distinction is important to how one views the chapters. In other words, while Book 1 is half the story, it can also be taken as a whole story by itself.

There will be 4 chapters and 4 areas to explore each, and roughly 4 lullabies to collect total. i'm hoping to get chapter 1 done in roughly 6 months? but uh, I'm curerntly having some issues lol

I've been trying to make progress but gms 2.3 is not stable. trying to put it on github didn't help, and the dang thing keep getting corrupted. which well, is mostly fine because I've saved the code and i backup all the time in my local drive, but still is a pain to deal with. i'll have to remake in 2.2.

which... would be fine except for the sequence editor. i love that dang thing. it really saddens me that 2.3 is bad </3. i'm pretty attached to gamemaker as a whole, tho I likely will be moving to TML's godot version once that version is out. eh, we'll see. lots to do in the meantime.

alas I'll figure it out, but it does set me back quite a bit. I'll get over it.

EDIT: or maybe i'll just wait for 2.3 to fix itself. i haven't decided yet T-T

game progress otherwise, i'm figuring out the engine more and more all the time and am making small accomplishments. i figured out the flag system which i've been trying to for ages, so i'm pretty excited for that.

i'll have a small 2-3 minute gameplay proof-of-concept out in a few months from now. I'm hoping at my progress speed to get chapter 1 out within the next year. owo wish me luck!
