Yesterday was mostly a day of setting up some stuff for this game to actually have a community around...
But today, that changes. I actually programmed some stuff!
Engine Stuff
If you have not caught on yet, this fangame will be developed using the Godot engine, a versatile and fast lil' bugger (kinda a necessity since my computer has trash specs.)!
Not only that, but Godot supports both 2D AND 3D, so this might lead to some interesting visual effects!
A "Short" Controller Support Tangent
As of right now, only basic movement and collision code is done right now (See above video for more)... but what is that I see near the end of the video?! Weird movement angles?! Why, it's... CONTROLLER SUPPORT?!?!
Why yes, this game will have controller support! (This is because some people, including me, prefer to play Deltarune and Undertale with a controller)
I hope to utilize controller features in the future. After all... That controller vibration stuff looks neat...
Other Things Mono and I Done That Don't Really Fit Anywhere Else
We improved some stuff over at out discord server to save our hinds in the long run.
Added some music that Mono and I plan to use for the beginning of the game. It is called, "Ruins V I B E". It's a neat track made by Grotesque 7-up#7387 on Discord. be sure to check it out if you can!
Uh... This Mini-Devlog didn't up so "mini" eh?
Well, thanks for reading to the end! Any other Mini-Devlogs from here-on-out should be much smaller.
Oh, and for your information: the main "Devlogs" are for when an exciting and neat feature is developed. Mini-Devlogs are for more frequent, small updates in areas that are not really that exciting.
