Hello everyone
It's been almost 2 months since I created this Devlog so I wanted to give a quick update on what I've added recently. Soon, I will also release the first Pre-Alpha publicly, far from a finished version but I'm hoping to see what direction I should take the game in the next 1-2 months.
Worker NPCs
You can now hire workers to farm, dry cannabis or defend your plantation. A worker costs $25 per day. You can define their schedule with different actions.
Zoning
You can now create 3 different types of zones to make NPCs work. Stockpile zones (purple): NPCs can take things from here and store things here. Farming zones (green): You can set a plant to grow, the NPCs will get the tools and seeds from a stockpile zone, plow the soil, sow the seeds and harvest the plants. Production zone (orange): Marks an area where NPCs should work (for example drying cannabis buds).
NPC vs NPC Combat
If you give workers a gun they will now defend your plantation from nearby enemies. They also seek cover behind trees for example. The tactics AI still has some problems but I'll improve it a bit more in the future.
Research
This is still quite WIP (aside from the UI obviously). It will also not be usable in the Demo yet since most of the researchable things don't exist yet.
Coming soon
As I mentioned I'm working towards a very, very early demo right now which should be finished soon. Afterwards I will also continue working on adding the new drugs like cocaine and heroin (art is already done but chemical processing mechanics still need a lot of work).
