My Future Development Plans

Hello! In this post I would like to go over the plans I have for future projects and the new way that I would like to continue game development going forward.


As you may know, development for Strange Journey Log properly began about 14 months ago, in October 2024. Ever since, I have only published two other games, those being Lotto Down Below and One Night in a Regular Warehouse.

Of those two games, one is from a 3 day game jam and the other is from a 3 hour event, respectively.

So obviously, I haven't developed anything very major since the development of Strange Journey Log commenced.


It has become obvious to me that Strange Journey Log is not nearly complete yet. Chapter 1 is just about complete, but there are still 3 other planned chapters to be made.

I originally planned to put all of my focus into developing Strange Journey Log until it was complete because I knew the game would take a very long time to develop, and I did not want to lose motivation on it, but it is now clear that- that is not the way I would like to develop games going forward.


Additionally, I have come up with many ideas for new games that I would like to explore, and forcing myself not to act on them is kind of bumming.


So, I have come up with a way that I would like to continue with developing games, starting with when I release version 0.3 of Strange Journey Log.

The idea is to work on multiple games at a time, not too many to the point of not having enough time to put into multiple games at once, but likely 2 games at a time.

I will split my games into two categories: Major projects and Side projects.

-Major projects will be games that I work on over longer periods of time, likely over the period of time that I spend on multiple Side projects. They will also be my main project that I work on for the year/s that I'm working on them for. Obviously the best example of this right now is Strange Journey Log.

-Side projects will be games that I would like to create but are at a much smaller scale than my major projects, such as One Night at Grey's 1:REINCARNATED.

I will most likely always have one Major project and one Side project being worked on at a time, probably no more or less.



Now, for actual future plans on games.

Future Games

I plan to continue making FNaF fangames after and during Strange Journey Log's lifetime, don't worry! But I also want to branch out more and explore other ideas and projects of mine such as Lotto Down Below.

Major Projects

Currently, there are two Major projects planned.

-First is Strange Journey Log. Of course, the game isn't yet finished, so my first priority is to complete it.

-My next plan for a Major project is not FNaF-related. It is planned to be a completely original RPG inspired by the likes of Earthbound, Deltarune and The Desolate Hope. So far, there are not many plans, but I have the idea of a setting and cast, as well as a few story elements. No spoilers!

Side Projects

-The first side project I have in mind has already begun development, actually, which you would know if you've been on the FNAF DEV PLAZA DISCORD SERVER!! [Join Now]: https://discord.gg/SJupMGGbF9

The game is named "Father's Return the musical the game" and is a joke game that aims to be a playable version of the "Father's Return" musical. As I said, development has already begun, with the first scene of the musical that takes place in the FNaF 3 office being mostly completed. The game is played essentially as if you are watching the musical, but with quick-time events added in to give you a proper challenge.

-Another idea for a future Side project is the Lotto Down Below Full Game, which will hopefully be a 3D remaster of Lotto Down Below, including more gameplay and potentially even a multiplayer! (If I can figure out how to do it).

-A series of Side projects planned for the future is the One Night at Grey's:REINCARNATED series. Honestly, this series is far overdue. If you know a good bit about me as a developer, you'll know that ONAG is the first game I ever made public using Scratch. I recently reuploaded the ONAG series as archives on my Scratch account, although I highly recommend skipping them as they suck and are over 5 years old...

Over the years, I've remastered the ONAG series- or at least ONAG1- a couple of times, with the most recent iteration being ONAG1:R. This remake was released in 2023 as the beginning of the REINCARNATED series which was meant to include remakes of all of the ONAG games as well as complete the series that never really concluded on Scratch.

However, I haven't begun development on ONAG2:R yet and won't for a bit, since I will first be developing Father's Return the musical the game.

I plan to truly begin the REINCARNATED series with a proper remake of ONAG1:R since I feel that the game is severely lacking in content, with only one night (I know it's called One Night at Grey's, but I want there to be extra challenge nights), and is coded quite poorly compared to what I am capable of these days.

Therefore, expect the REINCARNATED series to be made in the future.
