The last two weeks I have been on and off working on a new game. Inspired by my old game ‘Emerald Beach’ I wanted to make another match game but with a focus on fast game play and great performance. I went down the theme of caves and mining, mainly because I really liked what I did with my other game ‘Looter’, this time though I avoided Gems and Crystals and went with crates and boxes

The gameplay so far is this, you can build your towers, matching crates of the same colour means bigger pay out, the higher you build you towers the bigger the coins you get when you blow them up. The challenge is to keep “Cash-in” as many coins as you can before the time runs out.
You have to be careful placing the wrong coloured bomb on the wrong crate as it’ll create a toxic gas, too much gas and mining is over!
The art style is of course old school (trying to avoid the word “retro” here), it’s all vector art styled to look 16bit. The reason being is I want to be able to export this game to multiple sizes with no lose of quality. The reason for focusing so much on performance and scalabilty is becuase I would love to get this on mobile. My plan however is not to go straight down that route, as with everyone money is tight. So… My plan is to release to the web first as a flash game and see how well (if at all) the feedback is, if I feel that it’s a game people would like to play on their mobile devices then I’ll think about getting the licenses to publish
