Yeah, we changed the way we name our updates! Mainly cause the “pre” always meant “pre-release”, as in a “pre-release of a full demo”. But, uh, Demo 1 kinda is gonna be it’s own game now, so we’re changing the names to something simpler.
What’s new? There’s a lot, but please, keep reading as I’m sure you’ll be pleasently suprised… unless you’ve actually been actively following development of the game.
Shaggy was added to the roster
Sans’ MP-based battle-system was removed
The screen now shakes whenever you get hit
Implemented fully working, 100% accurate Gaster Blasters.. not that it matters, since they’re not actually used in the game yet, but hey, it’s something!
So, you know how in Undertale the menu’s layout changes a slight bit if your character is on the bottom of the screen? Yeah, we added that to MTO, and it was a pain to do, since we had to re-code pretty much all the menus.
Other minor adjustments to make the game more accurate to the source game. We’ll add more of those later.
You can now change the way usernames look with UnderNet! Don’t want the drop-shadows anymore? Want the usernames to have an outline? Worry not! Now you can do just that!
Sans and Swap Paps now have their second line in chat properly aligned.. well, almost anyway
Swap Ness now talks in proper uppercase
Swap Sand and Jane now only use uppercase in Underchat, just like Papyrus and Gaster!
Gaster players are now able to actually see what they’re typing! Gaster players’ usernames will also be automatically translated for other gaster players!
Tem was given a facelift
Chat has been slightly changed! Usernames are now read out instantly, some text-alignments have been fixed and best of all, chat-textboxes now reposition themselves depending on your position
“Nametag Froggit“‘s dialogue was changed a bit
PvP was added (more about it below, will definetly be nerfed at some point)
PvP Stats Screen was added to UnderNet
Lemonade now recovers Stamina when used in PvP
Keep in mind that PvP is still in very early states. Please move all suggestions, feedback and the such to the Discord server.
Let’s talk about how PvP works. Using the “PvP” option in your Cellphone menu now allows you to invite a player to a battle. Keep in mind, the player you invite will attack first. In-battle, you can spare your opponent, check their stats or just attack. But how does attacking work? You attack by pressing either Z or X in combination with any of the arrow keys. But watch your TP and the attack timer! If you use more than 50% TP a turn, you will lose stamina. If you’re out of stamina, you won’t be able to attack as much. You can also talk while attacking, if that matters at all.
As of right now, only Papyrus is usable in PvP. However, we will work on making more characters usable with each update. Please stay patient until then.
Papyrus has farily average attacks and stamina, making him a good starting character. All his attacks are bone-based and move from one side to another. Here are his attacks.
Bone Gap - Summons two pairs of bones forming a gap. The pairs come from both sides and move into the other.
Bone (Left and Right) - Summons a basic bone that moves either left or right.
Bone Group - Summons a small group of bones to act as a bone with a wieder hitbox.
Slow Bone - The ultimate attack. Summons the strongest bone Papyrus has in his arsenal.
Blue Attack - Summons two bones that close in on your opponent. This move will turn your opponent blue, so you may need to use this attack at the beginning of each of your battles.
Blue Bone (Left and right) - Similiar to the normal bone-move, this summons a blue bone that moves from one side to another
Double Group - Similiar to the bone group. This move summons two bone groups that close in on your opponent
Crushing Gap - This move is similiar to the Bone Gap, however it summons only one pair of bones. The upper bone will slowly move up and down, making timing more important.
