New Interface and General Updates

It's been a long while since the last progress update largely due to me just being busy with real-life stuff. I took a long hiatus from working on the game but now I'm slowly trying to get back into development and keep documenting progress that I make.

New Interface:

I decided to work on an original-ish interface rather than just completely remake the original MG2 interface. I'm going to keep the weapon/item selection screens the same as MG2, but the interface "frame" as I'm calling it will look slightly different. I've largely based it upon this recreation of Escape from New York in the style of MG2, but I've made it slightly different and also retained the green color scheme.

I had the image files for the new interface for quite some time, but as part of "getting back into it" I've actually finally integrated it into the game. The only code modification that was needed was showing whether or not you're using a silencer in the weapon window.

(The Escape from New York image in this post was not created by me, it was made by Youtuber Dracula9AntiChapel as far as I know)

Future Things:

Another reason such a long hiatus happened was I kinda reached a stonewall with programming enemies. Mainly just having the bullets actually kill enemies rather than just fly through them. When I originally programmed the bullets I didn't pay much mind to this, so I'll need to experiment with different methods on how to track bullets after they're fired, and detect when they hit certain objects. Currently they just fly out the gun and don't stop at anything.

If anyone reading this happens to have experience with Actionscript 3 and has any words of advice here I'd greatly appreciate it!

World Map:

The entirety of the map has been planned out, it's just a matter of actually creating the screens. Honestly this will probably take the longest time of any part of the game. Currently I expect the map will be larger than MG2's map, but we'll see when it's done. Not much else to say about it so early though.
