A previously undocumented change was that the black border, which normally surrounds the game to hide the background features when maximized, is now transparent. This allows you to see what's going on behind the scenes.
To see the "inner workings," just maximize the game, and right click, and then click on "100%" instead of "show all", and it will maximize the game but not scale the contents, allowing you to see off the stage.
