Hello Game Jolt!
I don’t know how I feel about you honestly. It seems most of your members are more interested in Pokemon reboots than original games, but you gave me a free place to upload my experimental crap, so I can’t complain too much.
If you’re reading this, download my games. They’re great. Particularly PRESS SPACE. MONOLITH is also good for a laugh or two, but not really very ambitious.
What IS ambitious is the game I’m using my experience from creating these two games to make.
Think top-down, humongous open world, exploration with game play facets of bullet-hell shmups, rpgs and metroidvanias.
Right now, the game is a mess of ideas, but I do have an awesome system of streaming backgrounds and navigational beacon placement already in play that make the game potentially infinitely large and interesting to explore even when it’s devoid of everything but pretty backgrounds.
I’m making sprites by rendering 2D images of 3D models I made in Blender. My sprite animations are super smooth, and I can simulate dynamic lighting in 2D.
Between my wife, work and my cats, I don’t have any idea when all of this will be done. I need more hours in a day. Download my already-existing games and let me know for encouragement.
Thanks for reading!
