I'm incredibly honored and thankful to everyone that took time to play the game, made a video or even commented. I apologize that the update took too long to make. This version was worked on since around January (as far as I remember) but at the end of February my graphic card got roasted so the progress was slowed down.
I've seen most of your feedback and took into consideration those that I thought made sense: From gameplay perspective I've made the game a little bit more forgiving and it should be easier to unlock extras, but that doesn't mean the game is easy; In one of the YT videos someone mentioned that compared to S:TA this game didn't have roads, so I attempted to add detail to some roads (so that not all paths are a straight line towards another landmark). Someone also pointed out how SM looks small sometimes, so I did something about it.
The biggest fix was the landmarks. I added more props to some of them, whereas some landmarks were completely changed to look better visually.
(Example: The crate labyrinth was just awful to look at. Everywhere it looked the same and it wasn't appealing. Therefore, I gave it a complete makeover.)
Without further ado, here's a full list of new things and changes in version v0.5.0
Added score/ranking system (aka. leaderboards) that shows up on the gamejolt's site. That way you can see how well you did on your run in terms of score and progress.
Added compression artifact effect
Added vibration support
Added hints at game over (they appear if you meet the requirements)
Added breathing sound when the protagonist is tired (to prevent people spamming the running function when the stamina is already drained)
(You can toggle it on/off if it's annoying)
Added more to the SFX library
(you no longer need to collect all 8 pages to unlock it)
Added heat haze at the campfire and improved the world-space distortion effect
Added a supply/item you can pick up
Added more props to some landmarks
Added "addon" options to the pause screen. From there you can toggle some extra stuff.
Added 2 achievements and 3 journal notes (which should in-a-way give more info about what happened in the park)
Minor optimizations (I hope)
Upscaled some textures (tents, pillars, 2 houses at the spawn points, etc.)
Improved lightbeam effect (replaced it with a new effect, this new one should be smoother and won't have shadow errors. Hopefully it will perform a little better)
Improved the daytime mode
Improved fog particles (no more fog glowing in the distance or visible outlines)
Improved, fixed and optimized protagonist model/shadow and animations
Improved Slenderman's walking animation
Improved terrain quality and added a little bit more detail
Improved quality for some textures
Improved Slenderman's AI (Slenderman will also change his size, because some people pointed out that he looks short from far away)
Changed extras requirements (now it's easier to unlock stuff)
Changed gamepad bindings for running and crouching
Changed shadow options (shadows can no longer be disabled)
Changed damage output, now SM is more dangerous (both with flashlight on and off)
and stamina parameter (now you can run a little bit longer)
Changed stamina regeneration on hardcore difficulty (you recover a little bit more now)
Changed camera motion on stamina (being tired will make the camera more wobbly and exaggerated)
Changed and improved 4 landmarks
Changed roads leading to some landmarks (to make this forest look more alive, there's less flat straight roads)
Changed page spawn logic (one page will now ALWAYS appear in the [information building center] landmark and the [crates] landmark)
Fixed V-Sync in options dropping errors when increasing its value
Fixed graphical glitches around one of the concrete landmarks with lights (black lines visible with camera motion blur)
Fixed specular lighting on pages (they no longer shine like glass)
Fixed ending bug where you'd be stuck in crouch mode
Fixed some audio that had pops/clicks when looping
Fixed collision problem around the elevator
Fix jitter when returning from a crouch state
Fixed trees that lacked collision
Fixed game over screen not turning dark
Fixed spawning mid-air problem
Fixed fall impact output (now the audio of the player dropping on the ground should be correct, and you won't be able to cheat against a game over by pausing the game when falling mid-air)
Fixed some model meshes (e.g: shelves that had invisible backfaces) and textures
There are other changes, fixes and improvements but I don't think they need to be mentioned (mostly because I forgot). There was a plan to add a secret short level but because my graphic card died, I couldn't add it. (I still don't have a good working graphic card btw)
There was a plan to add a multiplayer option but my internet is not strong enough for it, so it will be postponed until I find a way to make it work without having to turn my shitty PC into a server.
And for those wondering: The project is still abandoned and there is no "full version" in mind. The only person that works/worked on this update is me, and it took around 6 months to make minimum progress. Therefore, full version is a impossible milestone.
I thought about giving the source code or entire project away but not only is the project very non-user-friendly (It is programmed in a way beginners wouldn't understand wtf is anything) but the entire project is around 20 GB large (23.47GB on disk to be specific). My internet does not allow anything larger than 200MB because the upload breaks half-way.
Anyway, thank you to everyone that supported the project and played the game. I hope you'll enjoy the update.
