I started to merge the remaining not-yet-ported parts of the old DC with the new platform. This executable that is planned to eventually become the final version of DC, is available as the Mini download while the old DC is still there to serve as a point of reference.
The new release is basically the same detective game but:
The reporters are back, and now do all the investigation for you as they used to. In addition to locations (and soon, events), they can also investigate the suspects (including following them) according to their traits.
Hi-res text. Some objects like flasks in the lab may not be proper size and there is no triple-screen display yet. Other minor issues might also occur. Will fix ASAP.
The reporters also collect forensic samples from the suspect/victim they’ve been sent to investigate. All you need to do is try to match them with trace evidence found (right click on trace + select character name).
With the exception of newspaper aspect itself, the new framework for DC is therefore finally set. And now I need to add a bunch of (supernatural and lovecraftian) content… will let you all know when there’s something new :)
