No rest for the wicked! I'm already deep into my next game, an adaptation of "Diary of a Madman." The writing's done, and I'm about halfway done with the illustrations now. I'm guessing the project should be done by the end of July, so stay tuned!
OK...been a hot minute. Had to go through a few things at home, & it's sometimes hard for me to just push through the art stuff sometimes. But hey, I'm finally getting close to finishing the overworld map! Still need some details here & there...
Welp, I think I'm finally back! I'm going to start posting more on here with updates on my new project - Cyborg Shark!
I'll also be occasionally streaming my work on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/rippersmith - feel free to drop in!
Alright, so maybe 1-2 more weeks - but it WILL be before the end of June, I promise!
Finished the "Epilogue" section in 1 fell swoop today - just text across the screen. Also added "Game Options" earlier in the week.
Sorry for the lack of recent updates - it's now either big things like cutscenes that I haven't finished yet, or small things to sprinkle up a scene. Or the main menu. It's not finished yet, but I'm almost done with the cave in the game. Check it out!
Alright, I think I have enough to show you guys how it's coming along! I'm still working on a lot of the assets & sound, as well as some balancing, but what do you guys think so far?
For those wondering why I'm using the PS1 retro style, it's because I'm trying to paint the materials in Blender & I'm absolutely awful at it. The graphics are just hiding my chop-job texture work. Cutscenes are up, and it's exhausting. Bear with me!
"Diary of a Madman" is now available on itch.io! It's free and super short, so please consider checking it out!
Getting lost in the dark, so I added a working compass on the map screen - it does help a bit. I also need to re-rig the 3199 model because all of the animations broke & now it can only do the chicken dance. Don't ask me how that happened, I have no idea.
Thought the map was a little small (I could run from one edge to the other in 1 min.) so I redid the whole size of the map - from 700 x 700 to 1000 x 1000. Conversion took a little while, but it honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
