As some of you might have noticed, Old Gramps creates an .ini-file to store data in. This .ini-file could be edited without a problem, making it possible to cheat or whatever (I don’t want to suggest any ideas to anyone :P).
Well, thanks to MD5, this has become quite a lot harder.
This means, though, your old *.ini-file won’t work anymore. Deleting the file should do the trick. Sadly, your progress will be lost as well. So, if you don’t have the intention to cheat, you can just skip this update.
Furthermore, in the previous versions, your GameJolt token was saved without encryption (since this is saved locally, it wouldn’t harm anyway). To ensure that nothing strange will happen to your GameJolt-tokens when exchanging savefiles (for whatever reason), those are now saved encrypted.
Please note that, when logged in in the game, exchanging savefiles will still lead to that person playing on your account. It’s only quite a lot harder for him to just read your token. If you feel like sharing your savefile with someone, it is recommended to log off your GameJolt account by pressing the ‘J’-key in the main menu.
For those people wondering why your tokens are saved in the first place: to enable auto-login - it’s kind of bothersome to log in every time you play, isn’t it? Just relax, nothing strange is happening here ;)
Lastly, to make this update more worthwhile - apart from the minor textual fixes: I’ve added a secret trophy. Can you find it? ^^ Hint: you can achieve it somewhere in Episode 2.
That’s it. Hope you enjoy Old Gramps (more than 75 people have played it so far) and I really like to hear your opinions about the game, so don’t hesitate leaving a comment. I’m off to Istanbul now for ten days - finally having my holiday - so there won’t be any updates for a while. See you!
