On Inspiration

Two major sources of inspiration for certain themes were:

  • Orion’s Arm - a huge universe with lots of interesting ideas (splicing, advanced AIs, minds, their combinations, set in distant future, based on “hard science”)

  • Blindsight - SF book bursting with ideas - inlays, multi-cores (intentionally split personality), genetically engineered vampires, VR… and topping it with a great story
