Hello everyone, this is SussLord and I need to make a post about what Luminance has meant to me over the past two years.
Everyone, today officially marks two years since Luminance Productions was created on GameJolt, and I think I speak for the entire team when I say that Luminance changed the course of our lives.
When we first started we were a group of friends trying to make a game because we were bored.
Two years later, we are a group of friends trying to make games because we're bored.
Two years ago, I was 15 and trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. Now I'm getting ready to go to College for Game Design, possibly with one of my best friends @Nomok
, all because of Luminance.
Throughout these Two Years I've made more friends than I can count, and I've seen the absolute best that this community has to offer. I truly can't think of a better way I've wanted to spend these last two years.
Because of Luminance, I was able to go on a trip with some of the team and meet them in person, an experience I will never forget. I was able to make life-long relationships that I wouldn't trade for the world.
At the end of the day, we like to make shitposts. We like to make stupid FNAF Games, and we like to have fun. But even something as stupid as that, has truly changed my life, and I hope everyone on the team knows, I don't know what I would do without any of them. I'd like to take a moment and give a mention to all of our core team members.
@Nomok - The most talented 3D Artist I have ever met and had the pleasure to work with. An absolute genius when it comes to anything computers.
@winsomeless - Another insanely talented 3D Artist, along with one of the most dedicated people I know. A person who can learn almost any skill in the fraction of the time It'd take a normal person.
@ivannugget - Where to even begin with Ivan. One of the strangest people I have ever spoken too, yet someone who's always around to tell a joke and lighten the mood.
@dire_ - The smartest programmer I know and an absolute genius when it comes to innovating new things I've never seen done before.
@Scribby - Someone I've known for almost nine years, who throughout that time has been one of my closest friends, and helped me through one of the hardest times of my life, along with being the person who got me inspired to be a Game Developer.
@Stojo - A person so dedicated to their craft, that they'll spend so much time perfecting everything to make sure that their work is nothing less than perfect, along with being someone who has learned more about Shader programming than the rest of the team could ever comprehend.
@TheFangsomeWolf - One of the most talented artists both 2D and 3D, who's always helped me with anything I've ever needed no questions, and always being willing to help anyone with anything.
@MaximumElevapor - Someone who even at my worst, has still been there to help and support me, along with being the person that kick-started the creation of Luminance in the first place. The person who can keep anything I ask them too organized, and at the end of the day, a person I know is always in my corner.
@oli-stone - The most talented musician I've ever met (and honestly probably the most talented musician in the community) Someone who introduced me to many of the current members of Luminance, along with being the first person to ever support me while I tried making games for the first time in years.
Jimmy - A person many of you don't know. Jimmy is the strangest person I have ever, and will ever meet. I hardly understand a word he says. At the same time, Jimmy is the most loyal friend I will ever have, and one of the funniest people I ever know. Someone who will make a joke nobody else could ever even think of, but it will still make you laugh uncontrollably.
Everyone I've listed above I'm glad to call my friend, along with countless other people who have helped the team. I truly hope these people on the team know I care about them, and I hope you guys can appreciate them just as much as I do.
Thank you for reading this more serious post, and thank you all so much for two years.
