Outertale 5.06 Devlog & Translation progress report

Outertale is planned to provide multi-language support and many translators are working on it now!

I will show current progress and something fun!

Current Translation Progress:

The following language translations are complete or nearly complete. Enjoy!

  • English - 100% (Original Language)

  • Chinese (Simplified) - 100% (Completed)

  • Chinese (Traditional) - 100% (Completed)

    • (Both languages were added in the 5.05 update)

  • Portuguese (Brazil) - 89% (Expected completion in the 5.06 update)

The following language translations are progressing slowly, and we cannot guarantee completion dates. Your participation would greatly assist the translators:

  • Spanish - 18%

  • Turkish - 13%

  • Czech - 6%

  • Japanese - 6%

  • German - 5%

  • Italian - 1%

  • Russian - 1%

Oh, you're still here? Then I guess I need to share some truly impressive updates with you!

We plan to finish all of borders and colored sprites in the 5.06 update. Here's what we've done:

  • Border progress ~92%: Finished 5 brand new borders and polished some existing borders. now only 2 borders left.

  • Colored Sprites ~67%: Finished ALL of cute puppy sprites, along with random encounter enemies in the Foundry, Aerialis and CORE! Only some major characters left.

  • Enhanced Border Switching System: In 5.06, when the player enters a battle with dynamic border option on, the border will have a special effect on color change!

  • Bug fixes: We fixed some typos and small bugs about symbol display and gameplay.

I plan to release the 5.06 update on April 2nd, 2025! (so that the update won't be an April Fool Joke :D)

can you believe it guys

Due to Gamejolt sucking really bad, I can't finish the upload of 5.04. I tried yesterday and today, and it still broken. This update fixes that new chaotic route bug introduced in 5.03.
