Hey everyone!
I promised I would give you more frequent updates, so here I am with another devlog. As long as there are news to report, I will be here at the end of every month with a new devlog!
What we did this month
As I mentioned last time, there was a need for a restructure inside the team for us to be able to finally complete the script.
And the restructure has now been made, with the addition of our most recent team member: GG!
She will be helping us build a compelling story and we've making a ton of progress on that so far. The story for the whole game (chapters 1-5) is pretty much mapped out and we're finishing up with fine tuning some characters.
I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but it's more progress than we've ever made in a year, so I say this is a big win.
A new decision regarding the release
While reviewing and analysing the story plan, we came to the conclusion that the game will benefit from being released in two parts. That being said, Undertale Green will be releasing like this:
Chapters 1-3: You will start by getting to play the fully remastered chapters 1 and 2, and the brand new chapter 3.
Chapters 4-5: This will release afterwards, concluding the game.
The plan for next month
With story planning coming to a close, we can finally start working on the actual script dialogues. A good part of it is actually already done, but there's still a big chunk yet to be written, so that's what GG will be getting her hands into next month, as well as reviewing what I already wrote.
In terms of actually programming the game, we still have to wait for our main programmer, Purrsum, to be available to work on Undertale Green. He is currently busy with his own game, Undertale: Kindred Spirits which, as some of you might already know, will be releasing its prologue in September 27th, so that's totally something worth checking out! If you haven't heard of this fangame yet, you can check it out right here!
After the prologue releases, Purrsum will be back to Undertale Green and we'll get the programming stuff going.
That's it!
I'll be back next month to tell you how it went. If you want to ask any questions feel free to join us on the discord server!
Stay kind <3
