UNDERTALE GREEN - September 2020 Devlog

Hey, everyone!

Let's get started with some news and updated!

CHAPTER 3 PROGRESS

It's been quite a long time since the last devlog, but that doesn't mean we haven't been making progress. In fact, we've been making A LOT of progress recently.

The reason why we haven't been giving any news is because (like we've said previously) we have already entered spoiler territory, which means there's little to nothing for us to show.

Don't worry about the release date, we're still on track to deliver you Chapter 3 before 2020 ends. The release date is always subject to changes, but we'll let you know about it if necessary. For now, all you need to know is that Chapter 3 is still coming out this year.

ANNOUNCING BORDERS

That's right, you've seen them before on consoles but now you can enable an option to play Undertale Green with custom borders!

There will be one border for each area of the game, just like it happens in Undertale and Deltarune.

We don't want to spoil all of them, but here's a preview for the Old Mines Custom Border:

CHAPTER 1 AND 2 CHANGES:

We do listen to your feedback. We might not agree with every single piece of criticism, but we always make changes and improvements when we do agree with it.

The following list does not contain all of the changes we'll make, since we are still discussing some of them (don't worry, we're still discussing healing system), but here's a few that will happen for sure:

  • Rewritten Snitch Dialogues: There's a point in the Undertale Green's story where Snitch confesses to "wanting to end his own life". Some of you have pointed out that- well, ghosts don't die. Snitch should know about that and so should we. That's why the dialogues have been rewritten in a way that's still "impacful" but doesn't conflict with the world of Undertale.

  • Fixed Sparing Arc-Ade : A lot of you have spared Arc-Ade without really understanding what happened. In the original Undertale Green demo, that fight used to work way differently and there's been a programming mistake when working on the remake. That being said, that fight will be looked into to provide newcomers a better experience.

  • Cooper's Attack Hazards: Cooper's attacks are- ugh, hexagons? We feel like it would made more sense for those hazards to be replaced with shells, so we'll change that as well.

  • Genocide Chapter 2 Boss Hint: Did you know that pressing X or Shift makes your soul move slower? Probably not. And that also happens on Undertale! We would like the 3 ghosts to hint at that movement option in order to make the fight more fair, so that'll be implemented.

Anyway, that's all we have for this month.

We'll come back next month with more news and (hopefully) more progress done.

See you, everyone <3
