Progress Update #4

Hey guys!

Let’s skip the busy part, you know I’ve been busy. My acting career is going well (you may see me in an upcoming music video by a very big band - more on that when I’m allowed to say) and I’m working hard in rehearsals for American Idiot the musical. Blah blah blah, busy busy busy.

Now for the good stuff:

I have been working on the game over the past weekend, and have made considerable progress. Here’s a vague changelog:

  • Improved chat commands/server system, server/room owners now have access to extensive commands and normal users have some as well.

  • Working on cleaning up and polishing the UI still. For example, the map now shows you what rooms you can access based on the character you’re playing as.

  • Improved spectating. It’s still somewhat rough around the edges for now, but in addition to seeing Mike’s first-person perspective, you can now see his cursor as well.

  • Bugs bugs bugs! Killed lots of ‘em. Completely re-coded some components to work better. The game is steadily getting more and more consistent.

Something else I need to mention…

A few days ago, a GameJolt moderator made a mistake, and this page got removed. I freaked out for a bit, thinking I’d lost all- but luckily a very helpful moderator was able to get it back for me. So if you’d noticed that the page had disappeared for a few days, that’s why. But all should be good now!

That’s all for now, but if you have questions, please feel free to leave a comment!

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

Animation test. Not an actaul conclusion to who wins sonic vs Mario. Just a test animation combo.
