Hey everyone.
I'm here today to announce that the project has officially been cancelled.
We've been working on this project for a bit more than 2 years and it wasn't an easy decision, but we've decided that it was best to cancel the project.
One of the main reasons was the fact that in these 2 years, we weren't even halfway done with the demo we had planned. This was mainly because of how much stuff we had planned for it, things like a completely new spell system which would need to work both in battle and overworld, a lot of side content (like optional puzzle rooms, multiple optional spells and even side quests were planned.) and more.
This meant we would have to keep working on the demo for at least another year, if not more, just to finish it.
Not only would that be a very long time for a demo, but it would mean that the rest of the game would also have to be really long (the demo was going to be over 100 rooms long, which was more than twice the length of Undertale's demo.) and have a lot more content, which would take even more time.
I've also personally been losing interest in the project for months now, as I've found myself not enjoying working on it anymore, at least not as much as I used to.
This was also my first real project where I had to lead a team and it was harder than I expected, so there were issues with communication in the team and some team members would not have any tasks for weeks, while others would have way too many.
Some team members were too heavily relied on for progress on the game, such as Salami with spriting and myself with coding.
But we've decided that it wouldn't be fair to just cancel the project without showing anything that we had made.
