Hello, everyone. We would like to make a formal announcement to confirm some theories and clean up any information being spread around about our version of Underfell. Think of this as a Part 2 to our “Still Going” update.

To get things out of the way, yes. “Maniacal Laughter”, “Confrontation of the Dead” (By Keno9988), “Knock ‘Em Dead” and “Looks that Kill” (By Master of Toast) are now official tracks for our fan game, Underfell. Despite this, Keno and Toast are not official composers. They just happen to have songs that we could use perfectly for ours, and we think it worked out in the end.
EDIT: “Knock ‘Em Dead” was made specifically on request for Primusfell.

Now, here’s the thing. We are not using Confrontation of the Dead or Looks that Kill as a way of saying we’re using fan-personalities, or god forbid, the original designs. We assure you, Papyrus will have a design that we guarantee you’ll be satisfied with if you’ve been following us since we redesigned Sans. Though, I’m sure that most of you have been able to piece together what his design will be inspired by, from all the little teasers and hints we’ve sprinkled.

The PSA Part

For us, we’ve been getting some trouble regarding our game due to how some people outside the team have been acting. Now we’re not going to say any names, and we are aware this won’t solve everyone’s problems. But just take a moment to consider what we have to say about the constant debates about whether this Underfell is good or not.

Let’s get this out of the way. Do not attack others because they happen to like/dislike how this game looks. This goes for everybody following this game, because we see this all the time now. For anyone who ever argues with someone about this, whether it be on Discord, DeviantArt, or the Gamejolt comments, just. Stop it.

For people who dislike the game just because this isn’t their exact preference, remember that Underfell has no canon by definition. However, specific interpretations of Underfell have a canon story by themselves. This is why some fans often refer to some Underfell interpretations as “Maniafell”, “HiimtryingtoUnderfell”, or “Primusfell”.

If what you have just happens to not be on a specific interpretation, don’t bother us to make it for you. Don’t call us out as bad people all because we’re redesigning fictional characters. We’re making the game because we want to tell a story from our hearts. We’re just here to entertain, and we believe doing the exact same thing nearly everyone else does is not entertaining.

But again, that’s just what we believe. What you believe is entertaining is all up to you, and you have the power as a human being to make it happen, and those things take time and effort. For those who do like the game, don’t shit on others for not liking it. Don’t make comment chains about whether this game’s direction is objectively “good” or not. Don’t discourage people from drawing specific versions of Underfell. It’s art. They can draw whatever the hell they want.

The most you can do is tell people about our game, and let them evaluate it by themselves. If they’re so easily entertained by a lack of story and edge, then that’s their business. If you have to constantly whine and bitch and force Primus Underfell onto others, you make yourself and us look bad.

If someone happens to force their headcanon on our Underfell, (especially when they haven’t even played the game yet) then those kinds of people aren’t worth anything to us. That being said, the most we do is tell them that “this isn’t what you’re looking for”, and move on. If they continue to argue with us after that, we just block them. If we argued and forced our head-canons on to someone else, we look like major hypocrites and massive assholes at the end of the day. Don’t be one of them. There is no canon or non-canon Underfell, and we’re just ultimately sick of some of the behavior some people are executing. This message isn’t meant to say “stop criticizing” either. We’re just tired.

Expect the demo soon with Toriel and Flowey in their full glory, when Primus’ Underfell comes out with it’s first chapter, and you’ll be able to explore the Ravaged Mines. Good night.
