Mysterio may look a little silly with that fishbowl-like helmet, but he can use it to fool you by multiplying many clones of himself. Creepy, right? He has powers similar to Doctor Strange but with a few tricks up his sleeve; he gives people hallucinations, creates real-life optical illusions, and of course, the old fashion disappearing act! Abracadabra! From a very young age, Quentin had a love for movies and special effects. But, because his father Elmore loved his cousin Maguire better than his own son, never giving any damn about his hobbies, since the death of his mother, Henrietta, thinking his son was wasting his time, Quentin Beck became an accomplished special effects expert as well as a stuntman by the time he had become an adult. However, Beck grew bored with his career and frustrated with the lack of recognition he got from his work. In an attempt to get the fame that he craved, Beck tried to become an actor but had very little success, It was around this time that Spider-Wolf was making headlines as a media sensation. Beck first delved into crime when he allied himself with Phineas Mason, the criminal inventor known as the Tinkerer. Using his repair shop as a front, the Tinkerer planted bugs in the electronic equipment of prominent inventors and government officials in order to steal their secrets and sell them to the highest bidder. As a cover for their activities, Beck used his special effects skill to make it look like this scheme was being carried out by alien invaders. He created life-like alien costumes as well as a phony alien craft. This powerful sorcerer may be such a manipulative magician although, from his love of sci-fi movies, his career as an acting stuntman was destroyed when one of his stunts horribly burned an actor he was blacklisted from the industry since his scheme was ruined by Spidey. Having successfully escaped from the wall-crawler, Quentin Beck vowed to beat him one day if it was the last thing he ever did. If you think that fishbowl head isn’t silly enough, consider this: he doesn’t have any magical powers, he uses holographic technology as he began developing the weaponized special effects that he would use throughout his career as a super-villain. Deciding to get his revenge against Spider-Wolf, Beck began developing devices that could replicate the web-slinger's abilities. However, he was finding it a challenge to replicate Spider-Wolf's wall-crawling ability. He seemed to be the first supervillain who discovered Spider-Wolf’s secret identity…
