I wanted to give a proper update regarding the Tape Call voice actor situation, since I believe it’s only fair to be transparent about it.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to move forward with bringing in another voice actor for the role. As much as I genuinely care about the previous VA and appreciate their involvement, I found myself waiting weeks without receiving completed lines, and deadlines continued to be pushed back. With the game getting closer to finalization, I had to make a decision to keep development moving consistently.
This wasn’t an easy decision. I don’t hold any resentment; sometimes timing just doesn’t line up, and real life always comes first. But as a developer, I also have a responsibility to keep the project on track.
That said, I truly trust @SubspaceTMines
(Frogadier) with this role. He was part of the original version of the game, and honestly, I do feel a bit iffy that I didn’t reach out to him from the start. Having an OG return for Reshined feels right, and I’m confident in what he’ll bring to the Tape Calls.
For now, both voice actors will be credited. If the original lines are completed and everything aligns properly, I may include both versions as an optional settings toggle (tied to the time asset option), so players can choose which they prefer. I think that would be a great way to respect both contributions.
As development progresses, credits and implementation may be adjusted to reflect what’s included in the final build.
There’s no bad blood here; this is purely about keeping the game moving forward while respecting everyone involved.
