The two pictures of Peppino are of his last two attacks. My playtester helped me figure out what they should be, and these seem perfect. The pistol can be shot 3 times each turn, and can be canceled at any time, but no matter what it will cost you a turn. The shotgun can be shot once each turn but does double the damage the pistol can do. To make these moves not overpowered, you'll have to buy bullets for each of these attacks, with the pistol bullets costing less than the shotgun bullets. I got some good ideas for sounds that will make these moves satisfying to pull off.
The picture of the Goomba is of a massive improvement I made today (Not an in-game picture). You see that small black rectangle on the top left of the picture? If Mario or Luigi touches that rectangle/collision box and the player presses Z, they will be able to successfully jump on the enemy. That's right, the move will be 100% faithful to the original games now! There's no need for difficult timing with it anymore. All of these changes and additions will be part of update 2. I think I'll call it the Sonic update. Stay tuned!
