Version 0.8 Development
Version 0.8 of Realm of Rulers is still in the content phase but for now we will show you some features that will be included in 0.8.
We have been working hard to implement many new features as this is why we have been quiet for the last two weeks!
Player Spotlight
Before we show you whats to come with 0.8 here is the player spotlight! This time its not one but three players that are being shown.
We monitor the in game leader board regularly and we have found that many players have exceeded our expectations!
This player spotlight goes to the rulers of the cities B-Town, NeverATroll and asw for being the top rulers with the most citizens!
Player Owned Chests and Storages
Ever since the first update came out for RoR many players had accumulated many thousands of resources that they needed but couldn’t drop or put them somewhere else as their inventories became full.
In 0.8 we have implemented player storage into the game. You will be able to build a storage chest that keeps your items inside of its internal storage slots and can be moved between your inventory and chest as you wish.
The first iteration of this will only have one chest as we can iron bugs out faster with one type and in future updates we will add more larger storage chests and cupboards.
Two Floor Building
A new building type is being added to RoR. The two floor building is the solution for players that want to expand their town and have room for storing their new chests, crafting benches and more.
If you have any suggestions for new buildings or structures let us know on our forums!!
Screen Marker System
Many players have suggested this as a feature and now its coming to Realm of Rulers! We now have the system finished which gives us the ability to add on screen markers to objects that will show through other objects.
The most requested marker for this feature is the town settlement marker. If you even have found yourself lost in the game and could not find your base you might be cheering right now!
We can add more markers but for now the settlement marker will be the only one to not clutter the screen as much.
If you have any suggestions for important screen markers let us know on our forums!!
Atlas - Achievements, Locations, Lore and More
The atlas is a new interface where the player can find information, lore and new features such as achievements.
Achievements
We want to improve the content that is in RoR to increase the amount of playtime users can have without getting bored or burnt out of the same things over and over. We thought achievements would be the perfect solution to this.
This also gives more challenge to completionist players that enjoy 100% games. We will continuously add more and more achievements as the game goes along. There will also be some locked achievements to discover but that’s the only hint we are giving right now!
Locations, Lore Objects and People
In Realm of Rulers there is some deep lore that we creating to flesh out the universe and give players something to immerse themselves into. These lore elements will be able to be found as books, cities, villages, towns and NPC people.
The locations tab will give the player a small description, backstory, and an image of the found area. This will give the players an insight to the inner workings of the areas and how they are relevant to the world.
The objects tab will contain information about interesting items that they have found and what significant history there is behind them.
The people tab will give information about NPCs that are in the game that you will be able to communicate with. Initially NPCs will be able to trade items but in the future there will be more NPCs that have more specific purposes. NPCs are still being worked on so they will not be included in the 0.8 update.
The lore tab will contain all books, notes, journals and scrolls that you may encounter in the world. This is another feature that will give the game a more immersive feeling as the player finds more and more backstory to the world and how everything is now and how it was.
If you enjoy exploration and discovery then this update is going to be huge!
Reworked Cooking Interface
Forum user genises150 suggested to move the cooking food creation (wheat and barley into bread dough) to the cooking station as it will improve the quality of life for that area of content. This was easy to implement and it looks something like this!
Various Other Bugs
This patch is full of small but important changes and fixes to improve the experience for new and experienced players. The full change log will be available when 0.8 is out.
