I heard about the release of Sans Spielen's Epic Megalovania, a Sans fanbattle taking the place of our beloved Mustachey (a friendly nickname for you know who), and I'm here to analyze the fangame and its strengths and weaknesses.
So, to begin with, my rating for this fangame is 10/10, it progresses well in the style of the normal Sans fight in Undertale and its premise is fulfilled from start to finish, with no sense of humor, something quite appropriate for a fangame on a rather "controversial" topic, so to speak. I found Sans' personality well executed, being someone very dedicated to seeking domination and pure conviction in his German people, he captured the essence of the Second World War well, so the historical execution is excellent and even teaches a few lessons, although that's not the intention of the fangame (or so I think).
The music was a great match, with the music being tense and fast, and the instruments from Megalovania made the battle a little more tense, so kudos for the musical construction.
The attacks are very creative, the fangame has used a lot of platforms and military weapons in such an interesting way that I even think the attacks act on their own.
The ending is very reflective and concise in the construction of the fangame, there was no redemption or anything, but rather a strong conviction that Germany would grow strong over the Nazi regiments, something that didn't happen, but the touch of suicide greatly improved my view of the fangame.
In short, an excellent fangame, and for those who make dramatizations because of the topic involving a national genocide, remember that: If it were bad to address this topic, there would be no historical records about the event and no teaching professionals who taught about it in the subject of history. So to say that this fangame is an apology for Nazism is a lie created so much to inflate one's own ego, i.e. "Oh, I'm not a Nazi, so I don't support this kind of thing", I'm also against Nazism, but I don't have such a rigid sense of humor that I can't enjoy what has been delivered.
The downside of this is that it associates such an event with a character who is incoherent with such a personality, Sans being one of them, but that's not such a big problem since they make worse media about this kind of situation. So there's no defense of the totalitarian regime, stop being so rigid about something you can't even argue about.
I hope you understand my arguments and, if you want to discuss, be civilized, we are human beings.
