When it comes to the main content, things are going pretty quick now. The screenshot above shows a secret dungeon in the final chapter and when it comes to the mandatory quests, only the final dungeon remains. So you could say I'm pretty far, eh.....
"Nothing someone says before the word 'but' really counts"
BUT, once the final dungeon has been completed, my work is not over. We technically have a game then that can be played from start to finish, but I have a lot of cosmetic issues that still needs attending, a few very extremely serious bugs that need fixing, and some New Game+ content to take care of. I also must mind "The True Abyss" alternate game. Most of these are small tasks, however all put together it makes that this will still take the better part of my day.
People interested in alpha testing this game, are very welcome at this point, yes even before I put in the final dungeon. There's a long way to go before you reach that point in the game anyway, and thanks to the fact I am an alpha tester of GJPUSH I can make updates very quickly, and even daily if needed. Although not tested the game should work inside the the GJ client, and then alpha testing is even easier since the client will automatically update your version of the game, whenever I push a new version. All you need to be an alpha tester is a github account so you can post on my issue tracker, and of course, the ability not to leak spoilers. Even though this is a remake of a game I made before, some people didn't play the original yet, so don't spoil this for them.
I'm working on multiple things now, so forgive me that the speed in which this game will get finished is not high, but trust me, now that I've come this far, I can't face myself if I were to cancel this game now.
Future plans:
Yes, I planned ahead. This is providing my schedule will allow me to, and how well this Dyrt remake did work out, but I do have a few concepts.
A kind of sci-fi platform concept has been playing in my mind, but this will be done in a way that is very hard for me to do well, so nothing is sure here
Redoing Star Story and The Fairy Tale REVAMPED, however, these games will stay much closer to their original state as Dyrt. In Dyrt I was not happy with the original game compared to the standards of Star Story and TFTR. The latter two games do satisfy me in that concept, but the engine has trouble on some computers these days, and the compiler in which LAURA II was written doesn't function well anymore. This forces me to redo the engine and scripting of those two games. The assets, maps and everything will remain the same and the UI may see a few improvements, but nothing drastic.
63 Fires of Lung is cancelled as a LÖVE project, but may also be redone in the new engine, with the same stuff applying as to Star Story and TFTR, however, 63FOL was only halfway done, so once I got what I had transferred, some serious development will still be in order
I also have some coding stuff for my own design waiting here, so it goes without saying that I got some work there too.
I guess it goes without saying none of these are promises, especially not at this stage. I'm only human after all, and heck do I know how much time I'll have on my hands.
Anyway, see ya later... I hope I can make some serious announcements about this game soon, but that will heavily depend on how things go. A few bugs I got to deal with are very extremely nasty and their effects horrible, so wish me luck getting everything up and running.
