Seb's Devlog #144: 8/18/2024

What happened?

Okay so I'm implemented a new fix towards the Level Up screen. Now it's much faster and streamlined to the point where you don't have to wait much longer compared to the original. Of course, I haven't calculated this, but I'll get to that later for the trailer. But that doesn't mean the 0.4.0 update is finished, just only 1/3 of it is done. Yes, only 1/3 of it is done.

The second third is basically adding more dialogue to the hint system to be more clearer in the game. The problem in the original is that this wasn't really told to you, at least not in the most important part of the game or hinted at all. It's in the game from the payphone guy, but I feel like he needed more features to be better, because you can only get hints on the basis of story progression and that's it, you can't ask for anything else, so this new dialogue options will allow you to get more information about hints relevant to where you are in the game.

And the other third is miscellaneous stuff that's meant to be found by the player, basically not exactly important to tell you because it wouldn't be a secret in the first place, but not too trivial either. It can be a good addition to the game, assuming you know where to look for. Except I know you're gonna try checking the game's code to get it the easy way. But whatever, it's going to happen anyway.

Once this is done, I'll prepare something for the presentation of the update, mainly because it's a final update, might as well give it SOMETHING. So I'll see you in the next update.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa MarĂa Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
