I was setting up a general purpose server of mine and I got the idea to try re-hosting Ralios on it. So, yup, the critically acclaimed Ralios is back up! :P
HOW TO CONNECT
It’s super simple! Just launch the Ralios.exe client, and when it asks you to pick a server select Other, and when it prompts you for an IP address, enter: aramallo.com. For the port number leave it as the default (14804).
AND THAT’S IT!
Also: you need to press ENTER after you’re done typing your username or password while logging in or registering. I realize it’s awkard, and it’s something that always confused people.
Final disclaimer:
DON’T PUT IN YOUR REAL PASSWORDS FOR OTHER SITES/GAMES! MAKE UP A FAKE PASSWORD BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS STORED AS PLAINTEXT ON THE SERVER!!!!!
Unless you want me to know your password, don’t use it!
=================================
I don’t know how long I’ll keep it up. I’ve got the server running in a low-resource VM, and I don’t plan on taking it down anytime soon. If it starts to interfere with other operations of the server, then I’ll take it down. And if the actual Ralios server crashes (which wouldn’t surprise me) then I may or may not put it back up (or notice).
THE FUTURE OF RALIOS
…is unchanged. The game is still dead lol. I’m really only doing this to play around with my shiny new server. As always, the game is open source so feel free to continue making it if you wish.
And a final note: I made this back when I was still in middle school (Obama wasn’t even president yet!). So…don’t expect much.
