hello i am Niklas I sort of forgot to publish my last post…. opse but it was supposed to go up on the 24th of december and during the holidays i got a cold that got bad resulting in me needing to eat medicine…
But enough on that topic i am an leveldesiner in charge of telling stories through the game world
An example would be like: finding an corpse in a corner on an bed with no blood around it can suggest sickness, or bullet holes in one wall make you understand that there was a firefight in that area but that was obvious times, how about you find an ape next to a dead soldier but with no wounds. Or how about finding an truck full of cages and the Drivers can be heard coughing in the nearby petrol station.
So what did i do before/after the lost post:
I worked on an bounce pad but complications with the physics engine forced me to work on other things such things as (actual) level design in witch i try to make an level using unfinished assets and pen and paper to practice making level:

As you can see in the exampel, this is crude and most likely won’t be used in game
The in game test levels worked sort of if you had realy good control of the grate ape then you maybe can do it..
Other things i did was making a small Idle animation:

So i made an idle animation that consists completely of them standing and breathing… if you removed this small moment you end up with a rock that look somewhat like an ape. Today you can use the lack of sutch amimation to indicate death of a character.
