Production on this game feels like its got sloth speed for a semblance. So much testing so much correcting and checking. Its actually quite irritating, but at the end of it, it always feels so good to get another chunk of it done.
Progress looks like this. Right now.
I have some new maps to design and still a ways to go before the what I will refer to from now on as the Concept Demo (CD) is released. When that demo is released, I'll look to see if there is any real interest in this game and if I should continue, or just move on to Eltale Quest or my next venture. Feedback will be the deciding factor in all of this so, hopefully there is somewhat of a demand for this game, and not just the silent "Eh, I'll comment on things when it's fully complete if I do at all". This isn't a "to be sold" product so attention is the only currency I can ask for.
But before I loose track of point of this post update with my begging, what I was saying before is... I'm about a 25% towards my CD goal, but now I'm on the hunt for feed back. So I'm considering releasing prototype alpha demo's even though at current they will be very cut-scene focused due to the nature of the source material. However players do have level of interactivity, and it's this interactivity that has me wondering how the players are going to break the game. Recently asked someone on the discord to test the first 5 min of the game and stream it. I watched him try to interact with ladder that could no longer be used. I had to wonder if he thought the game was broken, because I didn't covey the information that, the object is no longer usable; and It's things like that, that have me needing some reliable testers and considering releasing the prototype alphas or pre-alphas. (I don't know what to call them)
I still haven't gotten to the models yet, but I think I'm going to stick with full 3D for the visuals. It's the thing that will draw the most attention. Everything is still in a place holder or in wip phase visually. So if do release and pre-CD demos its really going to be very incremental, and people who download run the risk of burning themselves out on the intro, but if you guys don't really mind then I'd be more than happy to release these incremental pre-demos.
And that about it for this update.
Thank for taking the time out for my project, and stay tuned for more updates
