New project, new background :3 (Thankfully, I had one that fit this one really well)

Anyways, the votes are in (I'd like to thank all 19 of yall for that) and it looks like Heaven's Flag is the lucky GMV that will get a hand-drawn, novel-length expansion first!

NGL, I drew this picture a week ago and made the game page a couple days ago because I knew the ten-percent rule would turn an early lead into a winner. In all honesty, I was rooting for either Monoville or Equals II, but perhaps it's for the best that it turned out this way. Since I eventually plan to do all of the VN game ideas in the poll at some point anyway, I'm not tripping about it. I just needed help picking one to start with, and now that problem is solved. I may even produce a list of the order in which they'll all be done.

While detailed, the story that sprung this is very straightforward and simple, with minimal worldbuilding compared to the others (perhaps that may be a reason why it won??). Being essentially a creation myth, the story will mainly focus on literal worldbuilding more than complex character development, but I promise the characters won't be planks of wood if I can help it!

Heaven's Flag uses a blended fantasy counterpart culture of European and Asian influences, so factoring in the color schemes of the adorable Gacha designs, that'll make for some REALLY fun sprite drawing!! It'll take a cool minute to draw the more ornate characters, though....

For the music, Apple Garageband has a greater set of pre-mixes that fit the aesthetic, but I may also use MMJ's royalty free mix packs! It's times like these where I wish retro anime soundtracks were public domain cos GAAHHHHH I LOVE THEM AND I WANNA USE THEM FOR MY VNS SO BAD---

As for parts beyond Ren'Py's defaults, I'm gonna go with a simple achievement system much like the one for Return to Eternity. As this will be a kinetic novel, the achievements will be earned as you advance farther in the story, and unlock CGs as well.

As for a release date...I have no clue but I can guarantee I won't give up on it! Perhaps as I finish a demo (yes, I have decided on a demo) I can better pinpoint one. I learned my lesson from last time, though - I'm not announcing jack till the game build is TESTED and UPLOADED. Naturally it'll be a long wait, but I'll try not to leave my page and its devlog too barren in the meantime!
