Well, yeah… very great stuff…
In this entry I’m gonna talk about three important things.
First of all the “final” demo

Well first things first…
“Final” demo
This demo is supposed to be final. After this no more demo versions shall be uploaded UNLESS some REALLY unforgivable bugs pop up. That is bugs that crash the game, really.
One important bug is in the way though. There is a bug in the Traveler’s Emblems and that bug leaves “permanent damage” to savegame files. The level-cap-increase, is not affected by this (so the most important function of them is “unharmed”), however the ability to turn off random encounters in a dungeon can get voided as soon as you leave the dungeon. This will very likely be fixed in the full version.
Please note savegames from the demo can be loaded in the full version of the game, that bug only needs to be taken into account.
If you use the Game-Jolt client… perfect, as when the first open betas are uploaded, you will get them automatically in the updates as they will replace the demos.
Let’s put on the changelog for this demo, shall we?
The placeholder portrait for Chief Werrington (Jake’s old man) has been replaced with its actual picture.
FIXED: A bug crashing the game when “Dark Vision” is cast has been fixed.
FIXED: The spell Asphixia and spells with the same animation crashing the game has been fixed.
FIXED: A crash popping up when your first action was using a status change curing item.
FIXED: A few issues in the Dragon Cave
FIXED: No statistic changes when you changed your equipment.
Now the victories you need for certain achievements will be counted, and thus those achievements can now actually be attained. Please note if you have a savegame prior to this version, the counter will start at zero victories, sorry about that.
FIXED: Flame spell completely messed
BUG: Traveler’s emblem messed up, read above.
FIXED: You could heal your dead, but they remained dead. This has been fixed
FIXED: Crash on repeating abilities when single targetting and the target died before the final card was being processed.
Voice Acting
Do you think the voice acting is amateur. Yeah, well I was glad with the people I had at the time, and none of them were experienced and none of them speak English natively. But if you think you can do better, now is the time to let me know. Around July I may have all spoken scenarios in order and then I may be able to work out the documentation you need to try and do better.
You may decide yourself which role you like to do, but I will not take in requests to redo Hando Stillor and the Fairy Elder. That is because those two were (on purpose) voiced with a very delicate accent, which was in the original recording time also the reason for voicing them myself. I will also only accept males for male roles and only females for female roles, and I guess that is pretty obvious. Also if a role has already been done by somebody else, please don’t request that role again, as that ain’t gonna work when I got multiple takes for the same role.
Also some roles (Jake and Marrilona in particular) have tons of text, so only go for this if you think you can complete it.
I suppose it goes without saying you’ll have to keep the scenario you’re gonna voice secret until the game’s release.
Oh, and don’t be afraid to share your “outtakes” with me, and yeah I will add them into the game. After beating the final boss the player will hear them all. :P
Beta-Testing
The beta-testing will take place in two rounds. In the first round the game will very likely be extremely buggy and maybe even having a few missing features. That is why this version will only be shared with a select group of people. Maybe you. I have a full bug-tracker on github where you can write down any bug you can find.
If you are interested, please let me know. The current ETA for the first closed beta is around the end of July or the start of August. With a little luck even sooner, but that depends on any possible setbacks I may suffer during the way.
