I said this in a comment on my last post but I'll say it again.
We will be releasing the game in chapters, eventually having four chapters in total making up the complete experience.
Each chapter will be a small reboot of the game that it’s based off of, such as Chapter 1 being based off of Sonic 1, Chapter 2 being based off of Sonic CD, etc.
We’re also going to be taking the four “best” zones from each game and making it it’s own area in its respected chapter (the number may change as development goes down).
As of right now, we’re developing a demo of the first area for Chapter 1, which will most likely be some version of Green Hill.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that in order to keep the team at a manageable size I came up with numbers of people allowed to work in one position, such as limiting the number of animators on the team to 7 (not lead animators, just animators).
