Space Jammers will get PvP and Survival Modes!
Been a little while since I posted, so let me start with some regular news:
BostonFIG went off without a hitch! It was great fun and I met a lot of devs as well as some industry contacts. Even got an interview: http://blastmagazine.com/2015/09/15/the-best-of-the-boston-festival-for-indie-games-2015/
There have been a lot of business type stuff going on in the background which is why I haven’t had time to upload any updates. I have been talking with Intel about doing some cross promotion as well as two Android micro-console platform holders, one in America and another in China. There is a possibility of an exciting deal with the one in America, but we will have to wait and see.
And that brings me to the big news.
Since I have been so pre-occupied with running the company lately, I have realized there is no way I will complete a proper Early Access version of Space Jammers in time for my launch on Steam this December. An action rogue-like demands a certain amount of content in order to be fun and I don’t feel right about charging for something half baked.
That is why I have decided to hold off on the dungeon-crawling aspect of the game in order to focus on something more managable: Arena Mode! This new mode will encompass PvP arena combat and Co-Op Endless mode (think Horde mode from Gears of War). I already have a playable up and running and it is looking very promising. Imagine if Towerfall and Nuclear Throne had a baby and you get the idea.
Say tuned next month as I will post a demo for the PvP mode. I will be adding it as a seperate build so those who still wish to play the dungeon-crawling version can still do so.
