Squid PTv2 Released!


Squid Public Test Version 2 is complete and is out now!

Changes:

  • Added GameJolt API

    • Scoreboards

    • Trophies

  • Added Cheat User Notification

    • The game will now say "Cheats Enabled" on the bottom of the screen when using cheats

    • This also prevents players from earning trophies/submiting scores on the scoreboard when cheating.

  • Updated time counter

    • The time counter previously was just the number of seconds you were alive. It now looks a bit nicer, It will display the number of minutes as well.

  • Updated maze generation

    • The maze will no longer generate as many dead end hallways (they're still possible but less likely)

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a potential freeze bug when winning the game

  • The "Done" button now shows up in the settings

Some designs for more potential features of the 1.0 Update

The candy bar is the only item currently set in stone for release. The others might change before the update.

Running and Orb of Confusion

I wanted to make more ways to escape Squid's wrath, so I've come up with two new additions: a Running mechanic, and the Orb of Confusion. I won't go into much detail on these yet, but they will be released next update soon!

Made a lot of progress with GameJolt API. Here's some pictures of the current trophy designs, hopefully the update will be ready soon!

GameJolt API is being integrated into Squid! This means there will be scoreboards and other cool new features! It's also worth noting that signing in will be completely optional, meaning offline play is still allowed if desired.
