Recently, I've had the opportunity to playtest the latest Beta of FNaF World: Overturned 1.2, a fan game developed solo by the talented @Boneto .
This won't be an update to the main article, since it's still not out yet, and, because this is still a Beta version, there is a bit more content that will come out with the full version, so I'll wait for that. However, this is a game I'd like to really highlight this time around, as it was an incredibly fun time.
So strap in, everyone, as I'll take you through the world of Overturned and beyond! Stick around or jump ahead to a special QnA with the dev, plus a hidden message too...?

My experience with the playtest
Before I begin, let me start off by saying that the fact I play tested this does not mean I'm gonna automatically give five stars out of five to the game. This also does not mean I will positively review the game. What I'm writing is what I genuinely felt.
Let me start off by saying this: it's come a long way since 1.0. Have you played that version? If you didn't, @JBlue3109 played the Beta version of 1.0 and he's uploaded a video on YouTube about it. You can also check out the archives for the game, which include 1.0, and see for yourself!
1.0 started off as a lightly better version of Fixed, simply because it contained 12 extra characters plus a few minor tweaks, modifications and improvements which made the experience more enjoyable!
1.1 developed on this by adding even more characters, new character unlocks and redesigning the character selection screen, which is the same as the one in the introductory video.
And now... 1.2. New characters. Original character unlocks. New mini-games. New moves. New additions to old areas. This... this is amazing.
The animations are on point: they are believable, they don't feel stiff and get the job done. Check this out, for instance:

I particularly like Funtime Bonnie's, as you can see the faceplate moving! The same also goes with Funtime Freddy!
The new attacks (such as Haunt Blast) are actually useful but not broken and they make sense. Not everything has to be broken: some are there to expand the roster available and to assign a moveset, an identity to a character who would hardly find an appropriate one.
The new unlocks... ranging from reaching a certain faz-coin amount to completing new mini-games, it never gets old. Even the two times the PNG of a popper was used, it made sense and didn't feel cheap. They were also cleverly hidden, which is appreciated (I'm not telling you where, however. Playing the game will be enough to see them ). The recently teased Withered Candy/Cindy unlock also goes to show that a lot of care is being placed into this.
The movesets. They were all very well thought out. No character feels wrong or cracked or weak. They all serve a purpose and they all make sense. You will want to use the characters both for their good HP and for their good attack combinations. Sparky is a good example, but Funtime Bonnie is too! (P.S.: Funtime Bonnie's moveset was a suggestion of mine, which of course is nice to see in practice ).
The new mini-games are really cute! The faz-coin clicker was teased under the game's page, but there's also this one right here (I wonder what it could be...? Of course, all graphics are temporary as this is a Beta):

The DLC was also very nice! To access it, you must [REDACTED INFORMATION]
. It really enriches the game overall and adds more depth to it. Plus, Funtime Bonnie gets unlocked through this. Hunting down secrets has never become more fun in our little, big community!
This is, overall, a really amazing modification that I loved from start to end! I have absolutely zero cons on it. It's ambitious, it tries new things and, I believe, it perfectly succeeds.

A quick retrospective
When I tried it back when there was only 1.0, I liked it. It was fun, it was nice. It was pretty small, but it did the job right. I placed it in "Highly recommended" and was satisfied.
Then, 1.1 released quickly. And I checked it again, saw new characters and unlock methods and liked it even more. And now we are here, at 1.2. The game started development in May 2025. It wasn't that long ago. And we are already here. How time flies, doesn't it?
Who could've guessed this is where we would've come? Every game, from the Demo to the now 1.2 Beta, shows the growth of a developer who is learning the ropes fast.
I wasn't a fervent fan of the game at first. Seriously, it was just a nice game: that was all for me at the time. But I look at this now... and I find myself really loving it. This is something I can't wait for you to try when it comes out! You will not regret it! It has become one of my favorite FNaF World fan games of all time! Try it out for yourself! I suggest starting 1.1 and getting the new characters there in preparation for 1.2!

Mr. Hippo's Bench - The QnA with the dev
Me: "So... welcome to Mr Hippo's Bench! First things first... why did you decide to make Overturned? What pushed you to become a dev?"
Boneto: "I decided to so I could practice my dream job, becoming a game creator!"
Me: "Oh, that sounds amazing! Now... what's new with Overturned 1.2?"
Boneto: "New characters, new games, DLCs, but sadly we are removing the cheat engine."
Me: "Ah, that's a real bummer! I guess we'll actually have to work for it now, do we?"
Boneto: "Yep!"
Me: "Any teasers for the fans?"
Boneto: "Hmm... Maybe there is one. Reworked animation for Baby and Funtime Freddy."
Me: "Oh, that's not bad at all!"
Me: "And now, of course, the big questions. How do you feel about this game? Did it turn out well?!
Boneto: "It did, thanks to @JBlue3109 's video on it."
Me: "But do you like it? Or do you think it could be improved even more?"
Boneto: "I think it definitely could be improved, especially with some of the animations. That's why I reworked the worst animations for 1.2."
Me: "It almost sounds to me like there is a 1.3 in the works too. Am I right?"
Boneto: "Of course! 1.3 will be a minor update to 1.2, mainly working on animations."
Me: "Final question then. If you were to recommend this to someone, what would you say?"
Boneto: "I would want someone to play the game to show how even an inexperienced single person could make something big, since I am the single person on the "Overturned Team". There are other people on it but they are only minor, like attack buttons etc.."
Me: "That sounds really amazing, Boneto. Thank you for your time!"
Boneto: "Thanks for the QnA. Actually, could I quickly add some last words?"
Me: "Oh, yes, absolutely!"
Boneto: "Silence shall always be here, light should always be here, but at the end of the day, it's night."
Me: "A cryptic hint! I like that!"

It's not over yet

(Shattered Mr. Hippo from The Pizzeria Roleplay)
There is one more story for me to tell,
one last hint for me to sell.
The one you received was far too obscure...
just how much does she think you could endure?
Let me tell you a story for old time's sake,
I'll let you decide what should be to take.
Listen closely and you shall see,
all that she could ever mean.
I have the key.
Come with me.

Vault Zero
A cryptic sentence left behind,
none of the owners knew what was inside.
Time was spent, time just flew,
kids become parents, as all kids do.
And before the last breath, an old man sighed
as he finally understood what was inside.
Time.
