Last year, on april 9th, I released Super Boiboi here on Gamejolt. It was my biggest, best(est?) game, and my most popular one, too.
So, to celebrate, I have a couple things I'm gonna do for this years anniversary.
Very Early Boiboi build release.
Boiboi took a long while to make, so I have plenty of early builds lying around. I've decided that i'll drop the source code for one of them here on Game Jolt. This one, dated 3/16/21. is one of the latest ones before I began to reprogram the game on a different project file.
It's not exactly in a playable state, so you'll have go mess around with the code to see/play everything. If you have Turbowarp/ Scratch, just download the .Sb3, load it into that and you'll be set.
A (super) update
Ever since January, i've been privately updating Boiboi. I wasn't exactly planning on releasing this build, just wanted to update the game because I wanted to iron out all of its major flaws.
Since today is just a special day, i've decided to release this version. I've fixed a lot of visual errors, polished/rewrote a lot of dialogue, and even added controller support with rumble. Now, the game is in a much better state, so if you haven't played the game yet now is the best time to do so.
New art
Some new art for the community was needed, I thought, so here's some brand new boiboi art!
Future plans
I know what you're probably thinking to yourself. "Where's Boiboi 2?" and the answer to that is: I haven't started working on it yet. Don't get me wrong, i've been thinking about ideas for a second and third game before I was even done with the first one; it's just that I was working on Boiboi for so long is that I wanted to work on something different. Now that i've finished 2 games, made 300 comics and have an animated show going, I think that when Tag 2 and Daniel's Planet: Biotic Biohazard is done, then that is when i'll start actually making a Boiboi 2. I already know what the plot, the gameplay, and some general story beats I wanna hit, so unlike boiboi 1 I won't just be making things up as I go along.
And that's it, guys. Happy 1 year anniversary to my best game, and here's to many more years of Boiboi!
