Thanks For Playing

I feel like first games are like first loves, they’ll always have a special place in your heart.

In the time since I put Infinitesimal Football out, I’ve grown substantially as a developer. I graduated from a web development bootcamp, learned how to maintain extensible codebases, to manage dependencies, to keep projects malleable and fun to work on. I’ve had opportunities to work with interesting people on interesting things, and embarked on a career as a frontend dev at a cool company.

But this game, with its myriad bugs and novice code, remains the project of which I’m most proud. I’d never worked so hard (and ineffectually) on anything. The lessons learned from making a silly game about high school football sparked a new passion, and imparted the foundational skill set to make a livelihood out of it.

There won’t be any more development on Infinitesimal Football. The code’s too messy, it’d be easier to just start over and build it anew. I still enjoy the premise/core mechanics, so maybe I will one day! But not anytime soon. I am happy to say, I’ve met some really talented devs who are similarly passionate about making games, and we’re currently working on a new one! I’ll keep everyone here posted on its development.

Thank you so much to everyone who played, who offered encouragement/support or lamented over the ~4373874328 bugs that never got fixed. Getting that feedback was instrumental in making me realize this is how I wanted to spend my time; talking to computers, making a thing, talking to people, making that thing better.

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

I was bored, so... ManutKat.

Heya! I wanted to show some gameplay progress i made so far. I hope you like it ^^

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

Very ambitious construction going on in Planet Zoo on Plays today. We're tryin'. LIVE: www.twitch.tv/dreamhackplays

My D&D art for my family so far (WIP if you couldn't tell)

A few screenshots of the places you'll cross in the Demo of Blu. You can play it today on #gamejolt !

We're knee deep in multiple large features and "game feel". Quick peek behind the scenes in this weeks Dev Blog: https://bit.ly/2QmmaQM

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

I thought I would do a quick show and tell, with a 2 min video of the start of the game and some of the game elements, after many many months it is really starting to come together, time to start networking https://gamejolt.com/games/Dungeon_fable/490669
