Heya everyone!
It's great to see you all! I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all the support the game has received so far, it truly means a lot to me and makes me really happy!
I'd also like to clear up a few things regarding the game, especially its current development progress. There are a couple of topics I'd like to explain so everyone is on the same page.
Why did you reveal the game at only 5% completion?
If you've checked the game's description, you've probably already noticed that the game is still pretty barebones. That's intentional, and it's simply due to the nature of how I want this project to be developed.
My goal is for this game to be the biggest celebration of the FNaS series for its 12th anniversary next year. Because of that, I want a large part of the community to be involved throughout development, even if it's not in a direct way. I want everyone to be able to follow the project's progress as closely as possible, so I'll do my best to keep you constantly updated on the content being made for the game.
Once development reaches certain milestones, I also plan to host a few community events where you'll have the chance to create exclusive content for the game. That's precisely why I decided to reveal the game's page this early.
Don't worry, though this doesn't mean the game literally has nothing. A large portion of the planning for how I want the game to be has already been completed, and I've already started writing some of those ideas in the game's dev server.
On top of that, the info poses for the entire cast of 48 characters are already finished. Surprisingly, those alone took around three months to complete. All of this is just one small piece of the project, but I think it's a pretty solid foundation to slowly build the rest of the game on.
When will the game be released?
I honestly have no idea.
As I mentioned above, my goal is to release the game on the FNaS anniversary, as I want it to truly feel like a celebration of the series. However, there's no guarantee that'll happen. I have no idea how long development will ultimately take, and I'm definitely not going to rush the game just to meet a specific date.
For now, there's no release window or estimated launch date.
Can I help with the game?
Kind of.
At the moment, I'm not looking for any new developers, as the current team is able to handle everything just fine. If we ever need additional artists or other contributors, I'll make a public post about it.
For now, the best way to help is by participating in the community! Every now and then I'll be making polls about certain decisions I'd like your feedback on, as well as hosting special community events where you'll have the chance to contribute to the project in fun ways.
(Heck, I think I'm going to make a poll right after posting this.)
Will the game support other languages?
Probably not, considering the scale of the project.
That said, I may consider adding Spanish in the future if it doesn't require too much additional work. I can't promise anything, though.
Can I voice act for the game?
Unfortunately, no.
After discussing it with the team, we decided not to include voice acting. While we think it would be cool, it would also require a significant amount of additional work that we don't feel would be worth it for this project.
The game will still feature character sounds such as laughs, grunts, and others here and there but there won't be any fully voiced dialogue.
Sorry!
And I think that's about everything!
I may update this post in the future if anything changes or if I feel there's something else worth clarifying. For now, though, that's all I wanted to say.
Once again, thank you all so much for the incredible support. It truly means a lot to me, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of saying it.
See you all soon!
